Open Space and Recreation Inventory
In 2008, community members were surveyed on their open space and recreation preferences and the current open space and recreation resources within the Region were inventoried. In general, respondents to the survey were in favor if increased taxes to pay for recreational facilities and were most interested in an expanded trail system.

The parks and open space resources inventoried were mapped and brochures were distributed with the goals of:

1. Make residents of Upper Perk aware of existing park and open space resources
2. Market the Region’s parks, open space, and quality of life to those from outside the Region
3. Help the Region’s decision-makers analyze the spatial distribution of existing parks and open space resources, and plan for the future
